JAMES 'Jimbo' BREEN

ABOUT

With both parents having worked in the music industry, Jimbo was constantly surrounded by music and musicians from an early age and has been playing
drums since he could hold a pair of sticks.

Jimbo has toured and recorded with a wide variety
of artists including: Joe Driscoll & Sekou Kouyate (Cumbancha), DJ Yoda (Get Involved), Bam from Jungle Brothers, Jamie Woon (Polydor), Stac (Wah Wah 45s), Sarah & Julian Muldoon (PIAS), Eva Lazarus, Joshua Whitehouse and Lazy Habits. Having toured across
the UK, Europe, USA, Canada & Africa, Jimbo is quickly establishing himself as a serious player on the circuit.

Recieving some tutelage from Frankie Tontoh (Amy Winehouse/ Craig David), Jimbo combines elements of hip-hop, soul, jazz, garage, grime, electronica, and funk
to inform his unique style which has seen him record at legendary London studios Dean Street, Redbull and
State of the Ark as well as soundtrack work for
Channel 4.

In 2015 Jimbo became an endorsee artist for Liberty Drums UK, receiving his own custom-designed kit and with future Liberty Drums clinics in the pipeline.

James relocated to Bristol in 2012 where he has his own studio for recording and teaching. If you are interested please use the contact page.
